FROM BEING A 'CHOKORAA' TO BEING A JOURNALIST AND GOSPEL ARTISTE!!!!!
Cosmus K is a Kenyan Gospel Artist, born in the coastal part of Kenya and a mijikenda by tribe (Giriama). This talented gospel artiste was raised in a town known as Mariakani.
Following his life history, he was born in a Muslim family and at the age of 8 years he gave his life to Jesus Christ and became a Christian. By that time Cosmus was in class four. He attended his primary school at Kibao Kiche Primary school. After he gave his life to Jesus, Cosmus was rejected by his family.
He was denied school fees and he had to face life as it was. He fetched firewood, water, made charcoal etc to sell so that he could cater for his school fees. In 2002, Cosmus completed his primary studies and went out to look for a job. Fortunately he was employed as a houseboy at Misufini Mariakani. He faithfully worked and his employer decided to take him to school after the results were out. His boss who was a lady 52 yrs of age, took him to Mariakani High School and Cosmus was enrolled in form 1. The lady payed fees for the first term and second term. Third term when the schools were open, the woman wanted sexual favours from Cosmus so that she would continue paying fees for him. Cosmus refused to do as the woman wished, which made the woman accuse him falsely for stealing money from her.The lady who wanted to have sex with him died in 2005 from HIV\AIDS.The young Cosmus was sent away from school and thrown out of the woman's house.
"I had nowhere to go. My school life became a nightmare and I was introduced to street life. I became a wander in the town of Mariakani for two years. Later I got employed in a streethotel and saved every little coin I got. I was later employed again as a houseboy and got promotion to a shopkeeper. The funniest thing with me is that I had a vision that I must go back to school and learn."Narrated Cosmus.
After saving money for many months, In 2007 Cosmus went back to school. He started form one again at Highbridge Academy Mombasa with the help of Pastor Mr & Mrs Joseph Maweu, then later transferred to Kalulini Boys high school in 2008 and in 2009 he transferred to Murang'a High School and did Kcse in 2010. He did very well and merged top in languages. Cosmus came out with a B-grade.
When he was in form 3 in 2009 he began his musical journey where he released his first album "Angalia" this was through the help of Fm2 Studios under producer Fred Mutunga.
