Abdalla Abubakar Ahmed, better known as Dula, aka. African Songbird, aka. Triple A, is a Kenyan " Reggae & Afro-beat" Singer / Songwriter and a Producer. He rose to fame in most parts of East Africa as "Triple A". especially in Kenya & Tanzania when he started producing some of the most successful Kenyan & Tanzania artists like, Doggy Man, Madee(Tip top), Mahkas (Nigeria) Pnc (Tz), Susumila (Ke) Amour (Ke), Shirko (Ke) Ally B (Ke), Dogo Janja (Tz) Rhymes B (Tz), Shemakins (Ke), Top B (Tz) and many others in 2005 - 2007. He is the first Music producer from Kenya to produce Top Notch Tanzania flavored music, commonly known as ‘Bongo flavor'.
Born in Malindi, in the Northern coast of Kenya (East Africa). He was raised with both his two parents together with his Brother and two sisters. Aged Twelve, Dula moved to Mombasa, Kenya.
While in school, Dula developed an understanding of his musical abilities and an appreciation for his Talent. He began his career in 1997 as a singer and started to record his music and send out demo tapes in the year 2000.
Dula's music is a mix of East-African style vocals, along with both Reggae , African & Western beats. His first solo Album "Wherever you are" is ready for release. Wherever you are, has generated singles like `When you Rise', `When this is over' and `Tiara (KITE)', among others. He also has Afro-beat singles like ‘Ulikua wapi' , ‘Hurira' and ‘Sioni Ajabu'.
Recently, he did some music Projects under KACA music Tanzania alongside Botswana's finest Rapper " Samba T" in which he also came up with new songs which are yet to be released.
Dula is currently working on some collaborations with other East African Artists and will soon be releasing collaboration singles.
Performances
Dula has been doing several stage Performances since he started his music career, including the known Uganda All Stars tour in Kampala in the Year 2013.
Languages
Most of Dula's Songs are in English and Swahili, but he at times borrows some other languages to spice up his Music.
Awards
In December, 2014 Dula was Awarded the Best Artist of the the year in the Uganda Slum Festival Kampala edition after emerging the first out of hundreds of Artists who participated in the "Slum Echoes" singing competition.
