PWANI USANII:WHATS YOU REAL NAME AND WHATS YOUR STAGE NAME?

DONI:My name is Abdalla babu ,my stage name is Doni Islandlove.

PWANI USANII: TELL US A LITTLE BIT OF YOUR BACKGROUND.

DONI: I was born and raised in mtwapa where I started music as it was done years before I was born by my grandparents. who were both vocalist in a band where they met and started our family.
I started singing when I was in class one , I was known as one of the young musicians in mtwapa .

PWANI USANII: WOW,SO YOU INHERITED THE MUSIC FROM YOUR BLOODLINE!

DONI: Yes sure,and that's a blessing from Allah.

PWANI USANII: EEH....CONTINUE

DONI: I started working with Tandu camp, K-Lama OuterLimits and many other Mombasa artists.

PWANI USANII:WHEN DID YOU RECORD YOUR FIRST SONG?

DONI: I recorded my first song in 2008,featuring an artiste by the name Petty.We did the song at Celeb Records Likoni Kiwerera.


PWANI USANII: DID THE SONG DO WELL?

DONI: Not really,the recording was of poor quality and that did not please me at all. Thats when I decided to switch to a nearby studio where I joined White Records Mtwapa under producer TINO producer B.I.

PWANI USANII: HOW DID IT GO AT WHITE RECORDS?

DONI:At White records I did an album with the hit maker of 'mapenzi ya simu' Fizzle.But due to unavoidable challenges I faced as an artist I decided to join the production team .


PWANI USANII:HOW WAS IT,SWITCHING FROM SINGING TO PRODUCING MUSIC?

DONI:As a producer I learned from different producers growing into me, under Wapishi records where I worked with TINO n LIL I n Daz Eck's.
Asali records where I worked with B.I.
Early 2016 I decided to walk out of my town to explore more on my career, where I met one of the most talented guys and the only circular artist who I respect for his incredible experience in the music industry.
Azzer.We decided to team up.

PWANI USANII:SO THATS HOW YOU HOOKED UP AND FORMED ISLANDLOVE RECORDS?

DONI:Yeah,we decided to cone up qith a studio together with our manager and Ceo of IslandLove records. Azzer and I formed a music crew signed under Islandlove records. I work as a music producer and composer and Azzer does music.

PWANI USANII: WHAT DO YOU THINK MAKES YOU DIFFERS FROM OTHER MUSIC PRODUCERS.

DONI:As a producer of Islandlove records,Lamu, I totally mean business and I'm ready to work with any mature or young talents around Lamu county.
